2009 Pirelli calendar wins in NBCA awards
- The calendar won the Fred Kendrick award for Outstanding Calendar of the Season and the Photographic award
- Printed by Beacon Press
- The 400x600 calendar has 28 double-sided leaves and has been printed 4-colour throughout apart from a special “warm brown” for the credit/backboard
The 36th edition of the Pirelli calendar printed by Beacon Press (part of Pureprint Group) has received two awards at the National Business Calendar Awards which took place last Thursday evening (15th January) at the London College of Communication in Elephant & Castle, London. The calendar was awarded the Fred Kendrick award for Outstanding Calendar of the Season and the Photographic award for Peter’s Beard superb photographic work on location in Botswana. Beard who lived in Kenya for thirty years, has a passion for wildlife and is one of the world’s greatest interpreters of the mystery and charm of Africa.
The National Business Calendar Awards were established in 1968 by London College of Printing (now London College of Communication), the British Printing Industries Association and the British Advertising Calendar Association. Today the Awards are also sponsored by the James McNaughton Group Paper Company, Mainline Flatpacks Ltd, Wirebind International Joto UK and Calendar Club amongst others.
The overall aim of the Awards is to promote the use of printed calendars and to encourage excellence in design, photography and production. The Awards are open to those involved in the production and design of business and retail calendars.
