Pureprint Group announces 2nd phase of investment programme and adds new B1 perfecting plant

  • 10-colour B1 Heidelberg Speedmaster Perfector installed
  • New premises provide additional 20,000 square feet of production space
  • A comprehensive offering for environmentally sensitive commercial print

Pureprint Group has today announced the second phase of their latest strategic investment programme. This features a new factory, opening this week, which will provide an additional 20,000 square feet of production space. The existing manufacturing facilities remain as before; this is an additional site also on the Bellbrook Park trading estate.

The new investment is a valuable addition to Pureprint’s normal production facility; a new concept that will take the group into new markets. The new factory will be a dedicated perfecting site and also incorporates the group’s new 14-station PUR / perfect binding line as well as the existing comprehensive array of print finishing machinery. In addition the group now has its own dedicated warehouse facility to accommodate the growing demand for Pureprint’s storage and fulfillment solutions service. The new configuration is expected to further streamline operations and improve overall production efficiency.

The new site will be equipped with a newly installed 10 colour B1 Heidelberg Speedmaster with 5/5 perfecting and image control, further increasing the group’s B1 capacity, and an existing B1 Heidleberg Speedmaster with perfecting is being transferred from the current printing factory. As well as creating the new dedicated perfecting plant this move will free up space for the third phase in Pureprint’s investment plans, to be announced after DRUPA, the expansion of the Group’s digital printing facilities.

The new factory will be run to the same industry leading environmental standards as the existing Pureprint printing facility with solvent recycling, vacuum waste extraction and alcohol free printing all powered by 100% renewable energy. The new site has also been fitted with an automated ink pumping station and vegetable based inks will be used throughout. Every possible step has been taken to ensure that the group is able to manufacture as efficiently as possible, whilst continuing to lead the way in sustainable printing.

Mark Handford, Chief Executive of the Pureprint Group said: “This is a new and different concept for our group and has generated a great deal of customer interest. It’s an extension of our sustainable printing solutions programme and will provide a most comprehensive offering for environmentally sensitive commercial print.”
